Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Reunite in Netflix's New Crime Thriller *The Rip*
*The Rip* is a 2026 crime thriller directed by Joe Carnahan and starring longtime collaborators Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as Miami police officers who uncover millions in hidden drug money. Released on January 16 exclusively on Netflix, the film explores themes of morality, loyalty, and the corrupting power of wealth. Loosely inspired by true events involving a real-life Miami cop, the story has sparked conversations for its gritty tone and dramatic tension. Featuring a strong supporting cast including Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, Teyana Taylor, and Kyle Chandler, the movie marks a return to the crime-drama genre for both Damon and Affleck. As fans debate its realism and performances, *The Rip* has quickly become one of Netflix’s most talked-about titles of early 2026.
