Who will win the 2025 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year?
Battle for 2025 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year: Carter Tops the Field
As the 2025 NFL season begins, the Defensive Rookie of the Year race is taking shape. Abdul Carter of the New York Giants is the betting favorite with +250 odds, praised for his pass-rushing upside. Jalon Walker (Falcons), Mykel Williams (49ers), and Travis Hunter (Jaguars) are all strong challengers. Hunter, a two-way standout, remains a wildcard who could break tradition. Historically, edge defenders like Carter have dominated DROY honors, but voters could be swayed by versatility and team impact. With multiple defensive rookies poised for big roles early, the race is wide open.
