Where do you think Deandre Ayton will sign after his Portland buyout?
Deandre Ayton Hits Free Agency After Trail Blazers Buyout
Deandre Ayton, the former No. 1 overall pick in 2018, is officially a free agent after reaching a contract buyout with the Portland Trail Blazers on June 30, 2025. The big man, who averaged 14.4 points and 10.2 rebounds last season, reportedly wanted to join a contending team after two years on struggling rosters. Ayton helped the Phoenix Suns reach the NBA Finals in 2021 and was traded to Portland in 2023 as part of a three-team deal. Portland had explored trade options before agreeing to the buyout, which clears salary cap space for them while giving Ayton the chance to choose his next destination. NBA fans and analysts are now speculating where the 7-footer will land next.
