What’s the most meaningful way to honor the legacy of 9/11?
24 Years Later: America Honors 9/11 Victims with Ceremonies and Service
As the U.S. marks the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, memorials and service events took place across the country. At Ground Zero in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, families of victims gathered to read names, observe moments of silence, and reflect on the lives lost. Political leaders, including former President Trump, joined in commemorations that emphasized themes of resilience and unity. Patriot Day is also observed as a National Day of Service, where volunteers across the U.S. engage in community-focused initiatives to turn tragedy into purpose. Many are asking how best to ensure future generations understand 9/11’s impact, and what it means to carry forward its legacy of courage, sacrifice, and solidarity.
