Should MLB place Sean Hjelle on leave while domestic abuse allegations are investigated?
Giants Pitcher Sean Hjelle Under Investigation After Viral Allegations
San Francisco Giants pitcher Sean Hjelle is under investigation following viral social media claims made by his wife. In a TikTok video posted earlier this week, she accused Hjelle of infidelity, emotional abuse, and abandoning their two children. The allegations have drawn widespread attention, prompting Major League Baseball and the Giants to issue statements confirming they are looking into the matter. Hjelle, a 6′11″ right-hander known for being one of MLB’s tallest players, has made nine appearances this season. While no formal charges have been filed, the situation raises questions about how leagues should respond to such public accusations. Should Hjelle be sidelined until the investigation concludes?
