How impactful will Ronny Mauricio's return be for the Mets in 2025?
Ronny Mauricio Returns to Mets After Triple-A Tear and Long Injury Layoff
Ronny Mauricio has officially rejoined the New York Mets after an extended recovery from an ACL tear suffered during winter ball in late 2023. After missing all of 2024 and undergoing two surgeries, Mauricio showed explosive form in Triple-A Syracuse, batting .515 over nine games. His recall on June 3, 2025, was accelerated by a hamstring injury to third baseman Mark Vientos. Mauricio, known for his infield versatility and offensive upside, is expected to contribute immediately. The Mets hope his return can stabilize their lineup amid mounting injuries and inconsistent play.
