Republican Rep. Mike Flood of Nebraska’s 1st District faced a loud and confrontational crowd during a recent town hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The controversy centered on his support for the Trump-backed “Big Beautiful Bill,†which extends 2017 tax cuts, boosts immigration and defense spending, and makes cuts to Medicaid, food aid, and healthcare programs.
