Did you experience the recent CenturyLink or Quantum Fiber outage—and how did you respond?

CenturyLink, Quantum Fiber Suffer Widespread Internet Outages Across U.S.

On June 19–20, a major internet outage disrupted connectivity for over 50,000 users across the U.S., primarily affecting CenturyLink, Quantum Fiber, and Brightspeed customers. The outage was most severe in Colorado, Arizona, the Pacific Northwest, and parts of the Midwest. User reports and network data suggest DNS server failures—not infrastructure damage—were the root cause, leaving customers unable to load websites or log into support portals. Many users restored service by switching to Google or Cloudflare DNS settings. Despite the scale of the incident, CenturyLink has offered little public comment, sparking backlash from affected users. This was one of the year's most significant outages in terms of scale and user disruption.
