Adam Sandler Returns as Golf’s Wildest Underdog in Netflix’s *Happy Gilmore 2*
Nearly three decades after the cult classic, Adam Sandler is back as Happy Gilmore in *Happy Gilmore 2*, which debuts on Netflix July 25, 2025. The sequel follows an older Gilmore as he reenters the golf world to support his daughter’s dream, blending nostalgia with a new generation’s journey. The film is directed by Kyle Newacheck and co-written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, aiming to recapture the humor and heart that made the original a hit. Returning favorites include Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen as Virginia, alongside new cast members like Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, and Sandler’s daughters. Cameos from pro golfers Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Bryson DeChambeau add authenticity. With themes of family, redemption, and classic Sandler-style comedy, *Happy Gilmore 2* is shaping up to be a major summer streaming event.
